Abandon your normal school holiday plans and join Tracks Dance Company for an intensive week of movement and dance. Working with Dance Animateur Kelly Beneforti and guest choreographer Natalie Hafsteins, participants will be involved in a creative process to make and perform a dance work in a week!

Movers aged 9-18yrs are invited to the Tracks studio during Term 3 school holidays. This is a 5-day intensive workshop program, specially designed for young people who are passionate about dance in any form and would like to participate in a choreographic process and performance (previous dance experience preferred.)

Dates:  Monday 28th September – Friday 2nd October
Fee:  School Sports Voucher or $100 total for the week’s workshops (includes refreshments)

Sydney Dance Company offered Tracks dancers a wonderful workshop on Monday July 13 as part of their De Novo tour to Darwin.

We are looking for 30 local Darwin community dancers over the age of 16, to rehearse over a 10-week period from the end of May leading up to the two-week performance season in August. If you would like to experience working with this exciting dance company and with local and national choreographers, please see below for audition information.

Tracks Dance Company is seeking expressions of interest for its 2015 Choreographic Program.
Led by Kelly Beneforti, who is the Tracks Dance Animateur in 2015, the program is open to anyone with a desire to develop their understanding and practice of choreography.

The program provides
- a supportive and professional environment
- exposure to a range of choreographic processes
- exploration of personal dance style and interests
- an opportunity to create a short piece of choreography for a public showing
- a space to meet and collaborate with other dancers and makers

Tracks aims to build the culture of dance making and appreciation in Darwin by encouraging the artistic development of the program's participants. Kelly will facilitate a series of workshops that invite movement generation, choreographic crafting and critical reflection. Working both individually and collaboratively, we will experiment with choreographic tasks, improvisation, writing, alternative spaces, music, dance film and costume in order to develop ideas and find new ways to move and create. The program is about deepening your understanding of the processes that go into making strong dance work!

The eleven-week program will run February 2 - April 19 in the Tracks Dance Studio at Frog's Hollow Centre for the Arts. Two workshops will be run per week, ending in a public showing April 18-19. The Tracks Choreographic Program is free.
