Andrea Wicking

Andrea Wicking joins the Tracks board in March 2020.

"When approached to join the Tracks Dance Board, it was from left field.  It didn't take long to think about it, due to having worked alongside the Tracks team for [the previous] 12 months. Tracks as an organisation is progressive in how they do business; they value first and foremost relationships - with each other, their staff, with funding agencies, their stakeholders and their audiences. This is an organisation with strong values, and they walk the talk, every single day. How could I not be part of an organisation who embodies what community means."

Andrea Wicking is a Territorian, residing in the Territory since 1984. With an interest in the arts and dance from a young age, she spent 12 years as a classical ballet student. Some of that time under Kathleen Gorham, and later as an adult student with Annette Dirickx in Darwin.

As a volunteer and arts administrator, she worked for Darwin Theatre Company, Browns Mart, Darwin Entertainment Centre, Ausdance, Crafts Council and Artback. Andrea also had a successful career in the NT Government for 10 years in ministerial liaision, marketing and communications, and policy.. This was followed by seven years as the Event Manager for the Darwin Convention Centre, as part of multinational corporate AEG Ogden.

The past four plus years, Andrea created Salty Plum Events, a bespoke event management company.  She enjoys working with clients to create and deliver memorable events, and was proud to be part of the Tracks Dance team to deliver the successful 2019 National Dance Forum.
