Photo shoot in WWII Oil Storage Tunnels
Our 8 choreographers taking part in this year's Choreographic Program ventured down into the WW2 Oil Storage Tunnels for some experiments in improvisation, alternative space and creating imagery for photography. The choreographers developed movement material drawing on the echoes of history and the resonating acoustics of the space, the arced walls and visual perspective of the tunnels, and the feeling of dirt, sweat and closeness. Our production manager and resident photographer Mat McHugh captured the physicality and atmosphere of our time in the tunnels in these beautiful images.
Big thanks to Darwin Tours for letting us use the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels
