SPACE TIME STUDIO RESIDENCY 2026

Space Time Studio Residency

November 2025- February 2026
Tracks Dance Studio - Harbour View Plaza
Please note: all residency places have been filled. New residencies will be announced late 2026

Space Time: This program invites you to embark on a self-directed journey to deepen your craft and unleash innovative ideas.

What do independent artists need to develop initial ideas? Space to work in, and time to do it, and hugely reduced hiring rates. Tracks Space Time residency does just that by providing a creative sanctuary for local, dance/movement artists, offering time to deepen their craft within Tracks dance studio. With access to our studio during the Wet Season (November to February), artists are invited to immerse themselves in their own self-led, open research and development time, culminating in a final Sharing.

Each year, up to four proposals are selected, with an emphasis on nurturing independent dance voices from any movement style/genre.
Space Time supports choreographic research, dance practice and reflection as well as adding cultural value to our creative community. Artists and practitioners of all dance and movement backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including culturally specific dance forms. Individual and group applications are welcome. Up to 4 proposals are supported annually.
Note: Space Time is not for the operation of commercial dance classes or later-stage development, such as project rehearsals.

Up to 24 hours of studio hire. Cost: $200+GST (equivalent to $8.30/hr - valued at $1320) between November and February.
If the cost of the residency creates a barrier, please reach out to discuss a scholarship. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Please read the guidelines before beginning your application.

Why should you take this opportunity?
The residency is cheap as chips.
Tracks has a well-appointed studio, purpose-built for movement and theatre practice, sprung floor, good sound system, and mirrors.

Note: Space Time is not for the operation of commercial dance classes or later-stage development, such as project rehearsals. For information on our general studio hire, head
