SARAH RENNIE
Text
Sarah joined the Tracks Board in July 2024.
Born and raised in Fitzroy, Sarah moved to Darwin in 2017 seeking a better work-life balance following a gruelling — yet rewarding — stint in corporate law. She feels blessed to live, work and raise her family on beautiful Larrakia country.
For more than 15-years Sarah has worked with Indigenous communities and worker organisations in Southeast Asia and the Top End of Australia as a human rights activist, lawyer and facilitator of community-driven projects. She currently works at the Northern Land Council, where she leads a team that assists indigenous communities across the Top End that want to create, plan and deliver their own community projects.
Sarah is committed to empowering marginalised groups and adopting participatory approaches to project planning and governance. She is also passionate about community participation in the arts.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Asian Studies and Law from the Australian National University and a Master of Law from the University of Melbourne. She is fluent in Indonesian and speaks several other languages. She enjoys dance as a medium of social connection as well as music, film and all manner of visual arts.
