A Message from the Curator
Fresh Tracks returned to Darwin Fringe, offering an exciting meeting place and performance platform for artists working with diverse styles, stories and concepts in choreography.
Fresh Tracks is a program of short, experimental dance works to expand your vision of the moving body; alive and vibrant. A place for refreshing ways of seeing, feeling and thinking. With diverse approaches to dance and choreography, Fresh Tracks is an opportunity to witness raw, intimate and generous performance.
Developed and performed by Northern Territory makers and dancers, these new works are offered as a reflection of their curiosities and experiments. Stay for the artist talk to learn how the choreographers test their ideas, take risks, and sit in the uncertainty of the creative process. Dance artists reveal the extraordinary in the everyday-ness of being human, inviting us to consider our connections to ourselves, each other and our environment.
Fresh Tracks is nestled within the Development Program at Tracks Dance Company. The artists are drawn from our ongoing residencies, Choreolabs, and programs, and from our broad family of connected movers and makers. Our Development Program aims to provide support to grow and deepen the capacity of the dance community and audiences in the Northern Territory of Australia
We thank our audience for coming along and witnessing these works-in-development, enlivening them in a new way through your presence and perspectives as an audience.

FRESH TRACKS PROGRAM
Local, independent dance-makers were invited to create short-form, experimental works and share insight into their creative process with local audiences through an artist talk. Fresh Tracks is a unique opportunity to see what is new and fresh in Northern Territory dance and hear about the fascinating experiences and discoveries by the artists making it.
This year the performances showed the breadth of Tracks' work, from seniors to youth, Indigenous, contemporary, and resident artists, and from Darwin and Alice Springs.
