Fresh Tracks returned to Darwin Fringe this year, offering a meeting place and performance platform for artists with diverse styles, stories and concepts in choreography. Local, independent dance-makers were invited to each create a short-form, experimental work and share insight into their creative process with Darwin audiences through artist talks. Fresh Tracks is a unique opportunity to see what is new and fresh in NT dance and hear about the fascinating experiences and discoveries of the artists making it.

Fresh Tracks is core to our Development Program at Tracks Dance and supports artists to pursue their ideas, explore their unique physical languages, and have dedicated time to nurture their choreographic practice. For some Fresh Tracks 2023 artists, this was the first original dance work they have made for presentation. Others pushed the boundaries of their current interests, worked on exciting collaborations, or explored the influence of different art practices in the choreographic space.
