Sudha Coutinho

Sudha is an avid supporter of the arts in all its forms.

She has a background as an Occupational Therapist specialising in mental health. Sudha has always been interested in the stories we tell about ourselves and those that others tell about us, and the power in the telling for both the storyteller and the listener. Sudha was the Chairperson of Backroom Press, a Broome based publishing house focusing on creating books that resonate with authentic Kimberley voices telling Kimberley stories.

She was also the founding Director of Broome's inaugural writers festival, Corrugated Lines : a festival of words. Sudha has a deep seated connection to community and cultural development and has worked remotely across northern Australia for the last 20 years.  Her own project 'Telling Story' has been recognised nationally as a narrative practice project that supports communities tell their stories in ways that make them stronger.

Sudha is attracted to Tracks Dance because of their commitment to tell stories of people and place through the medium of dance.
