Six Feet Over or Under

Text

Brown's Mart Theatre, Darwin City

March 28-30, 1996

Looking at history as the future, the resonance that fills the spaces between the people and the web that links them. April 30-May 3, Six Feet was the first full-length work created by Tracks. A sensual and revealing work that looked at how bodies carry our past with us, moulded by family, places, people and events. On the ground, a child looks up to six feet above, while as an adult we look over the edge, six feet below.

Responses

"This innovative performance piece confirms that TRACKS is at the cutting edge of contemporary dance in the Northern Territory."  Jenne Roberts, Department of Health and Community Services

"I would like to express my total enjoyment of your performance of Six Feet Over or Under. It was both moving and humorous. I was totally engrossed and at times moved to tears. I could relate the whole programme to my own past and present experience and put my own special interpretation to each of the dance sequences. I watched the show twice and absorbed new information and encouraged others to see the show." Deirdre Goldsworthy, Gymnasium Manager.
