Max Dewa Stretton

Max Dewa Stretton was born in Bali and grew up in Darwin. He studied law at Charles Darwin University, including periods of study in Indonesia and China, and later completed a Master of Business Administration (Digital) through Monash University.

Originally trained as a lawyer, Max has worked across the legal, government and advisory sectors, supporting major projects, economic development and engagement between Australia and Indonesia. He has a strong interest in Northern Australia's future and the role that communities and culture play in shaping it.

Max has been involved in a range of community organisations throughout his life, including local sporting clubs and cultural organisations.

Coming from a family with a long connection to the arts, Max has been involved in Darwin's arts community for many years and has been on the board since 2019. He has participated in a range of local cultural events and performed in several Darwin Festival productions, including Tracks Dance Company's In Your Blood in 2018. He values the role that arts and culture play in bringing people together, celebrating diverse identities and strengthening communities.
